The Academy

Dear development partners, Uganda Youth Soccer Academy (UYSA) a sport and career development organization would like to invite you, as an individual or a club or as an organization to participate in a project that will change the lives of disadvantaged children in low resourced Communities. We promise you, the difference you make in their lives, will make an even larger difference in your life.

First I want you to think about your favorite play ground, can you visualize it? Now can you see a little girl in the wheel chair? She is watching her friends slip down a slide. Silent tears are falling down her face. Over there is a blind teenager, he can hear his friends running along a raised plat form to get to a fort, but he is afraid to join them. He wants to play, but there is no quiet areas he feels safe in. These children can not change the way things are but with your support the academy will.

UYSA was established on the 5th OCT, 2007 as a Voluntary NGO operating in low resourced communities, Kivulu, Kantaga slums of Kampala, giving Hope and Education to slum and street children, children infected and affected by HIV/AIDS, Disabled children in urban slums, advocating for improved health and sanitation in slums of Uganda through football the most entertaining game for children.

For the last 5 years, UYSA has operated without its own play ground but relied on hired facilities. This has costed the academy huge sums of money, simply because we do not have a fund and budget to purchase land for the construction of a modern special facility where children with physical development or sensory disabilities will be able to play with able- bodied friends. Further there is a lot of inconveniencies and hidden costs in relying on hired facilities.

Below is the special modern facility we urgently need to put up. All children deserve the Right to play with freedom, without fear, frustration or ridicule that is why UYSA is building this facility.

You never personally know the children that will benefit the most from this special play ground, but their smiles and their laughter will be because people like you care.

This play ground is a gift to the community. Please remember that you are never too old to play. Come swing on the swings, play in the water and slide down a slide. After all you have helped to build it and it belongs to all.

The over all budget for the structural construction will cost……….... please remember Disability is not inability all children have the ability to play make a difference in there lives.
